Peggy’s water feature

The water feature by day...

Now that we’ve (I say “we”, I mean Peggy and her mum) cleared the bottom end of the garden, there’s space to put Peggy’s water feature.

It’s the “Dubai” – we got ours from Shoots, but it’s not on their website. It looks like a stone ball with a ring of bright white LEDs around the circumference, and the water bubbles out of the top and flows over the sphere to be collected in the tub underneath and recirculated. The water doesn’t shoot up high, so it’s a nice calm feature which shouldn’t need much topping up – the odd bit of rainfall should replace any water lost through evaporation. I built (I say “I”, and this time I really do mean me!) a wooden frame from unused edging, and this hides the tub from view. A bit of chicken wire over the top supports three bags of blue stone chips from Costco to create a nice surround for the sphere.

...and how the LEDs look at night.

Finally, some colour-changing LED rocks from B&Q are placed at each corner, and some smaller spheres (also from B&Q) have been placed around the base of the frame as they complement the feature.
