Update and general post-wedding stuff

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Well here we are, rapidly approaching our first Christmas as man and wife. Doesn’t seem like eight weeks since we got married; there’s been so much to do!

First off, a big “Thank you” to everyone for coming to our wedding – we had a great time, and hope you did too. We’d also like to say that we haven’t forgotten you, and we’ll be sending out thank you cards soon – we wanted to do something a bit special with them, which has taken a bit of time to organise.

We’ve now got our photo galleries sorted out, you can see a “Photo Albums” link up in the top left of the page. We’ve uploaded the official photos, and ones from Peggy’s family, Shah and Ollie & Sonya. If you have photos that you took, it’d be great if you could please email them to us so we can see them. We’ll also put up some photos and video from our mini-honeymoon soon; as you know, we’re going to do a “proper” honeymoon next year, but after Peggy’s family went back home we did go to Cornwall for a long weekend.I’ll put up a seperate post about that later.

Suit up! pt2

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

I’ve just been for my suit fitting at the tailor’s office and I’m well chuffed with it. They’ve just got to take in the shoulders a bit and that’ll be it – the waistcoat and trousers are spot on as they are.

No rush for invitation replies!

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Some of the earlier invitations we sent out had a fairly short timeframe for RSVPs – not to worry, we’ve still got a couple of weeks before we have to give final numbers to the hotel, so you’ve still got time!

Where we’re getting married

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

We had another wander around Hitchin today, to visit the florist and the salon Peggy will be using, so I took the camcorder along…

Suit up!

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I’ve had my measurements taken for my suit, and chosen the material. I’ve gone for a dark grey with purple lining, and if you’re really bothered you can see the suit I designed. Delivery and adjustments due late September, so still a bit of time to lose a few kilos more…

Peggy’s got the dress

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Annoyingly the wedding dress shop Peggy bought her dress from is closing soon, so she’s had to bring the dress home. Fortunately that means the shop’s closure won’t cause us any problems, and the owner has said she’ll still be able to do alterations.

All quiet on the wedding front, but appointments loom…

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Not much to report at lately, athough Peggy has started her wedding invitation production line. After what seemed like 20 different versions (it seemed like 20, I suspect it was closer to 30) we’ve now got an approved design which has gone into production on the dining table.

We’ve also got an appointment with a florist at the weekend (the one we thought we would use never returned any of my four messages, so Town and Garden it is, then) and then on Monday Peggy has her dress fitting, followed by my tailor’s appointment on Wednesday.

Ringing in the rain

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

We’ve got the rings now – slightly worried that if we leave it too late then we might miss out on the only ones we really, really like, so we’ve already got them. We can still get them altered if we need to, and we’ll get them engraved probably in late September.

Quite a bit of progress so far…

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Things are coming along – we’ve got the location, photographer, catering, disco, registrar and colour scheme sorted. We’ve also found rings we really like at last, although we’re not ordering them for a few months yet – plenty of time to find even better ones!

Oh, and congratulations to Oliver and Sonya – sorry we couldn’t make it to your wedding!

Peggy & Andy’s Wedding Blog goes live!

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

Well, it’s early days yet, so not much to report! We have a venue and a date – The Sun Hotel in Hitchin, 12/10/08 – and the rest is TBA. Right now we’re researching wedding cakes; we’ve also been looking at florists, photographers and DJs.
